At Antique Market we often wonder where our furniture ends up or what it looks like in another setting. From time to time we are blessed with a few customer photos or, in this instance, a whole series of them. Oliver Simon Design is a design team based in Vancouver. While looking through the “Projects” gallery on their website, I came across a super cool rustic loft with furniture and lighting sourced from, you guessed it, Antique Market.

Starting in the living area you’ll find one of our Map Drawer Coffee Tables nestled in perfectly next to a great leather sectional sofa. Moving into the kitchen, hanging from way up above, are a couple mismatched Industrial Pendant Lamps illuminating the breakfast bar area. One of my favourite touches is the classic subway tile and dark grout completing the thoughtful kitchen layout.
As you move upstairs, the washroom is the perfect compliment to the kitchen. Timeless elements such as a clawfoot tub and hexagon floor tile mix seamlessly with our Primitive Indian Antique Cabinet and Industrial Sink. A vignette of gator skull and some antique bottles is the cherry on top.
Exposed beams greet you as you enter the bedroom. Wide plank wood flooring keep it charmingly rough around the edges. Lastly, A piece of our Faux Taxidermy hangs over a red accent chair for a pop of colour to break up the natural finishes of the wood platform bed, dresser and chest.

We are very happy to, once again, be an exhibitor at The Vancouver Home + Design Show this weekend at BC Place. We have some great specials on our reclaimed pine dining tables and chairs and with the help of AM 650 there will also be a draw for an industrial trolley cart. If you plan on going to the show, or find yourself in the neighbourhood, make sure to stop by the booth and say hi.

We are just putting the last few pieces out from new shipment of Chinese Antiques. There is some beautiful furniture and smalls that you will definitely want to have a look at. You can see the entire container in the 23rd gallery on our website or be sure to drop by to have a look in person. Here are a few photos of some of the first pieces to hit the shop floor…

We will be keeping our regular hours this holiday weekend. We will be open Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm, closed Monday and Tuesday. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Antique Market!

I just received some photos from Harry who is away on a buying trip. Looks like he’s hit the jackpot in a new warehouse located in central China. Can’t wait to see what he comes away with for the shop!

Leo Boutique is a Calgary based clothing outfitter that opened its Vancouver location in May. With merchandise for men and women from great brands such as Nudie Jeans, J Brand and Opening Ceremony the Kitsilano store is a beautiful new setting for some of our Industrial Furniture.

Leo Boutique is easy to navigate and attractively merchandised. In addition to the rustic clothing racks and great antique display case, you can find accessories and grooming products neatly laid out on one of our Industrial Bookshelves and a fantastic selection of high quality denim stacked on an adjustable height Industrial Coffee Table. If you find yourself in Kits and are partial to great clothing, this place is definitely worth checking out.

So I gave myself a little more time this morning for my walk to work. I decided to take a different route then I usually do and stroll through Railtown to get my coffee at the newly opened Railtown Cafe. Having supplied them with some of our Industrial Stools, we have been able to keep informed on their opening. The menu of salads, soups, sandwiches (made with sous vide protiens) and baked goods is fantastic. Equally great is the extremely friendly staff which is sure to make Railtown Cafe a neighbourhood staple and a Vancouver destination for delicious food and drink.
